Hair Transplant Types at Koher Medical in High Point, NC

Today’s hair transplants are a permanent and natural way to restore one’s hair. What makes hair transplantation work is the fact that the hair on the back of the head stays in a healthy state, while the hair on the top of the head is subject to the effects of male and female pattern hair loss. There are two techniques used to perform a hair transplant. FUT (Follicular Unit Transplant) and FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction), both are great options for patients with the main difference between the two being how we extract the donor hair. One technique is not necessarily better than the other. Patient preference and hairstyle typically determine which surgical technique is chosen. Our team coupled with industry leading techniques and equipment make hair transplants completely undetectable.

The hair transplant is a minor skin procedure and is performed under local anesthesia. There are few physical limitations following the procedure, however it does take about a week to fully cosmetically heal. Full cosmetic results from a transplant can be seen in 15 months.
